Hi everyone! Bater aka Icky Kitty here. Lily told you all about that pretty cool seat cover that she got to try out, but now it is my turn. I was not going to let her have all the fun with product testing month this month since it has been a while since my brofurs and I got any love on this blog. So after investigating the options, we decided we wanted to try out some canned food from Tiki Cat.
We have tried some Tiki Cat out before. Last time we tried it out, it was lots of seafood. This month is all about poultry! We love chicken. Whenever mom is making a dish that involves chicken, you can bet that the three of us well four if you count that dog, are circling mom for some tasty bites.
This months selection is called Tiki Cat After Dark.
I know, I know, I am a very handsome spokeskitty. It is a tough life being such a good looking kitty.
This variety pack contains six different flavors.
The flavors in each pack are Chicken, Chicken & Beef, Chicken & Lamb, Chicken & Pork, Chicken & Quail Egg, and Chicken & Duck. That is a whole lot of chicken!! As I told you above, we are huge chicken fans, so this variety pack was right up our alley.
The first flavor we picked out to try was Chicken and Quail Egg. Mom put it in the dish and that Sam kitty turned into a crazy kitty. He wouldn’t let anyone else near the dish. If Baby or I came up to him, he would block us from coming near him. He ate every single bite of that can. He gobbled up that quail egg! Mom was totally intrigued by the quail egg. It was a hard boiled quail egg in the can of food. We do not see too many hard boiled eggs in kitty food, so it was pretty interesting.
It almost looks like some fancy dish you would find in a human restaurant. Pretty easy to pick out the egg and all that tasty shredded chicken.
I am a huge fan of broth and Tiki Cat has a lot of broth in their cans. I licked up all the broth first before I started to eat the yummy chicken part. Cats need to stay hydrated. So all that broth is giving us the fluid we need. Some kitties don’t always drink enough water, so having the extra moisture is helpful.
Next up was Chicken and Duck. You cannot tell from the picture, but my tongue was working overtime to lap up all that brothy goodness. I am a really picky kitty. Wet food never really interested me. I might lick a bit of the juices, but never was interested in the meat portion. I love Tiki Cat though. I will drink the broth and eat the meat. I kept eating until Sam pushed me out of the way
My usual food is dry food, which I totally love. Remember earlier when I talked about some cats not getting enough fluid? Well that does not apply to me. I drink water throughout the day and I even have a favorite dish that I drink out of. Having Tiki Cat just means I am still getting hydrated, but in a super tasty way!
If you look at the first six ingredients on a can of Tiki Cat After Dark Chicken & Quail Egg, you will see Chicken broth, chicken, chicken liver, chicken gizzard, chicken heart, quail egg. I don’t see grains or added carbs listed. Why? Cats are carnivores! When is the last time you saw a lion grab a baguette to have with its antelope? The remaining ingredients are vitamins and minerals. This ensures that we have a well balanced meal. Each of the other recipes are similar. They contain all the same chicken parts, but with the additional protein.
Tiki Cat recipes help boost energy, support the immune system and support overall health. Their recipes help mimic the natural prey of cats. Members of the cat family don’t just eat a chicken breast and move on, we eat everything.
The three of us loved Tiki Cat After Dark. 12 paws up! It had everything we wanted in a food and even something we didn’t even know we wanted. Yeah, I am talking about that quail egg. I loved the broth, Sam kitty loved the shredded chicken, and Baby cat just loved it all.
Mom likes that they gear their food towards the carnivore that cats are. She also liked that it is protein and moisture rich. Sometimes she does not see Baby drink enough water and this food makes sure that he stays hydrated. We are old and Tiki Cat food is good for all life stages. I am the youngest at 14!
