Hey everyone! Bater here, you might know me better as icky kitty. I’ve been stuck with that name since that dog showed up on my turf. My brofurs and I have been enjoying the holidays. We love all that wrapping paper to rip up and flick around. That is what the holidays are about right?
Earlier this month, Lily told you all about some fantastic jerky that was amazing! I wouldn’t know, she would not share with me. She mentioned that the kitties were working hard on a blog post of our own. It just took us some extra time to make sure it was perfect.
We were honored when Chewy asked if we would like to test out this pretty cool looking cat scratcher. Sam kitty was there for emotional support. He does not have front claws. His previous owners declawed him. That was not very cool of them. Scratching stuff is the best. I scratch on everything. Doors, trees, chairs, sofas, and other stuff. It is mostly stuff I am not supposed to scratch.
Baby is pretty camera shy, so I am the face of this blog post. He gave me his input and I am here to look pretty and let you know the 411 on the cat scratcher.
It is made by a company called Pet Fusion. They make beds, food bowls, food stands, scratching posts and other cat scratchers, litter boxes, and litter box accessories. So many different things for both cats and dogs.
The cat scratcher we tried out is called the PetFusion 3 sided Vertical Cat Scratcher. It is pretty nifty and stylish looking. It is covered in cardboard and attached with a glue that is safe for us felines. The cardboard is eco friendly and recycled. YAY for being friendly to the environment.
It is three sided, so once one side has been scratched up pretty good, you can flip it and bam! You have a whole new side to scratch up.
As you can see, this is a decent sized cat scratcher. It comes in two sizes, standard and large. The dimensions for the standard are 18 x 10.5 x 16 inches and the large is 24 x 10.5 x 21.2 inches.
It comes with a little pouch of catnip. You can sprinkle the catnip on one of the sides to entice your kitty to scratch at it. I only like a particular type of nip, so mom placed my favorite toy on there to entice me to scratch at it. Once my hair tie was on there, I was a wild kitty. (my hair tie play is always supervised, she is always careful that I do not try to eat them)
As you can see, we have done a pretty good job of getting the one side pretty scratched up. To keep it looking fresh, you can use a comb to pull up and catch loose shreds of cardboard.
The scratcher stays in place when placed on a rug or carpet. No carpet in your domicile? No problem! It comes with silicon floor grippers to keep it in place.
You can tell that I was having lots of fun. What about our other clawed feline resident? Baby likes playing with it at bedtime. Everyone can hear him scratching away while mom and dad are trying to get to sleep. He is camera shy, so no pictures of him having fun. He was the first one to test it out. Out of the three of us, he is the one that is most interested in any type of cat scratcher or post. He is a ninja scratcher. You hear him and then try to catch him in the act and BAM! He is nowhere to be seen.
What about when a kitty isn’t scratching away? If you tried your kitties favorite toy and that did not work, try some treats! A little persuasion cannot hurt. If they still aren’t scratching, you might need to show them how to scratch it. It is a learning process. They just need to know what a fun thing it is. Don’t force it on us though. We are independent kitties and will play when the time is right.
So to summarize, This cat scratcher has three sides that can be turned to prolong the scratching fun. You can apply grips to the scratcher to keep it in place when it is on a non carpeted surface. It comes with catnip to drive us crazy and entice us use those paws on the scratcher instead of the couch. Finally, it is a super pawsome cat scratcher!
So in closing. Baby and I give this cat scratcher 4 paws up or is that 8 paws up? hmm We will go with 8 paws since there are two of us. We highly recommend this scratcher. When it comes to cat scratchers, we prefer ones that have cardboard over ones that are carpeted. So this scratcher is perfect for us.
